The Hyundai Help For Kids Lions Academy aims to identify talented players as young as 12 years of age. Players identified at Talent ID Camps and singed to the Academy are exposed to elite training and coaching aimed to take their development through to drafting age for the NAB Draft and NAB Rookie Draft.
Players without an AFL background still have the opportunity to join the academy through the Athlete Rookie Search program. Run in conjunction with AFL Queensland, this program aims to give athletes from all sports the opportunity to access elite player pathways in AFL.
Athletes are identified by our Talent Identification Officers and then tested for key athletic attributes and skills required to become an elite AFL player.
The Hyundai Help For Kids Lions Academy prepares talented athletes from a range of backgrounds to play AFL at an elite level, where successful graduating players advance onto the Brisbane Lions list.
