AFL players are generally afforded only one day off per week during the season, so it’s important that they use this rare ‘down time’ to satisfy their non-football interests.

For Rohan Bewick, that usually means having a hit of golf or doing a spot of fishing.

In fact, Bewick intends to take his love of the sea one step further by investing in a boat with teammate and fellow fishing enthusiast Ryan Harwood.

The 23-year-old revealed his plans to Matt Maguire during the latest instalment of A Brew with Goose on LIONS TV.

“Me and Ryan Harwood are looking at going halves in a big off-shore boat, so we can do a bit of fishing on our day off and also in the off-season,” Bewick said.

“We can get right out deep. We love our fishing, the both of us.”

“(Ryan Harwood) is the only bloke willing to put the money in, so he’s my best option.”

Maguire’s latest ‘brew up’ with a Lions teammate took place at a café in Stone’s Corner called Lady Marmalade, which was first introduced to Bewick by housemate Daniel Rich.

“We come down here regularly for lunch. It’s on the way we take to get to the Gabba in the morning, so we stop here pretty often to get a brew on the way to footy,” Bewick said.
