Victorian-based Brisbane Lions member Nathan Ranner did his part to help grow the Club’s membership in 2014 by recruiting four new members to the fold.

Nathan, who currently holds a Lions family membership, encouraged his sister and her family to join for the first time this year.

“There were four new members in total,” he told lions.com.au.

“I figured the more I could get, the better it would be for the Club.”

By signing up new members, Nathan became a valuable Lion Hunter and automatically went into the draw to win tickets to the 2014 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

All members who had referred at least one new member to the Lions were included in the draw, with their total number of entries dependent on exactly how many people they referred.

Nathan, for instance, had four entries considering he’s recruited four new members.

As it turned out, those four entries proved enough, as one was randomly drawn as the major prize winner.

He is now off to the 2014 Toyota AFL Grand Final on that last day of September.

“I didn’t think anything of it until I got the phone call from the Club…and I was pretty happy with that,” Nathan said.

“I’m now looking forward to going to the Grand Final – although I’m not sure who I’ll be taking just yet.”

The Lions would like to thank all Lion Hunters for helping bring new members to the Club in 2014.

Just think, if a quarter of our existing Lions members recruited one extra member in 2015, the Club would reach its target of 30,000 members!
