The Brisbane Lions’ famed ‘Mozzie Squad’ – made up of Dayne Zorko, Josh Green, and Lewy Taylor – proved a lethal combination for the Club in 2014.

Zorko finished Runner-Up in the Merrett-Murray Medal, Green was the team’s leading goal-kicker, and Taylor won the AFL Rising Star Award.

It was a terrific return from the trio, who were the only listed Lions players last season to measure in at below 180cm.

They were living proof that size doesn’t matter.

The ‘Mozzie’ title suited them perfectly, and they took great enjoyment in buzzing around the field and pestering their opposition.

The exciting trio may soon become a foursome, however, following the recruitment of Allen Christensen from Geelong.

Christensen stands at just 177cm, which is only narrowly taller than Green (176cm), Zorko (174cm), and Taylor (173cm).

He also knows his way around goals, having booted 56 in his 65 matches at an average of 0.86 per game.

Also in Christensen’s favour is that he already boasts a connection with Rising Star Taylor, who is a good friend of his younger brother. Both also played their junior football at the Geelong Falcons.

When quizzed whether he might try and get Taylor’s Number 28 (the number he wore at Geelong), Christensen responded: “Nah, but I’m going to tell him to pull his socks down though.”
