The Brisbane Lions today launched their new-look 2015 Clash jumper, as the players took to the training track for the second week of their preseason campaign.

The jumper replicates the popular look and feel of the Club’s 2012 Hall of Fame jumper by perpetuating the “Y” of Fitzroy’s inaugural jumper in which they won four VFL premierships at the turn of the twentieth century, becoming the most successful team of the first ten years of the competition.

Pairing the “Y” with the “lion” pays homage to two of the most successful periods in the Club’s combined history – those four Fitzroy premierships between 1898 and 1905, and the Brisbane Lions’ three between 2001 and 2003 when the famed lion adorned the front of the jumper.

The colour-way also serves to provide a connection to our unique merged past. The introduction of white, in line with AFL specifications, plus an angled blue keyline, reminiscent of the white one on the Bears’ “vee” of the mid 1990s, gives it a “traditionalistic but contemporary” appearance.

The jumper strives for the perfect balance between tradition and innovation, with utmost respect shown to the Club’s unique past.

The Lions, in conjunction with the world’s leading sports apparel manufacturer and our official apparel partner BLK, have delivered a Club specific design which has been cut from our fabric, and most importantly, built for our family.

Much like Collingwood has its “prison bars”, Carlton its “CFC monogram”, Essendon and Richmond their “sash”, Melbourne its “yoke”, Geelong its “hoops”, Sydney its “vee” and Fremantle its “chevrons”, so too the Brisbane Lions will own the “Y”.

To celebrate both the launch of the Clash jumper and the return to the Club’s original guernsey, the Club is giving fans the opportunity to win a signed copy of each of the three jumpers; home, away and clash.

Fans are being asked to head online and tell us which of the jumpers is their favourite for the chance to win. Full details are available HERE
