Brisbane Lions youngster Tom Cutler has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Club, which will see him remain at the Lions until at least the end of 2017.

In his first year at the Lions, Cutler played seven games, after making his debut at Adelaide Oval in Round 4 against Port Adelaide.

Cutler, 19, was drafted by the Lions from the Oakleigh Chargers, with Pick No.33 overall in the 2013 National Draft.

The 19-year-old struggled with a groin injury early in the season before undergoing surgery on a minor knee injury in August.

Cutler joins a growing list of young talent who have committed to the Club, including fellow 2014 debutants, Daniel McStay, Lewis Taylor, Darcy Gardiner, Michael Close and Nick Robertson.

Lions General Manager, Football Operations, Dean Warren, said the re-signing was exciting for the Club:

“Tom will play an important part in the future success of our football Club and it’s great to secure his services until at least the end of the 2017 season.

“He has really settled into life in Brisbane since making the move from Melbourne and has definitely showed plenty of signs that he is set for a big future with the Brisbane Lions.

“We have secured a wealth of our young talent this year and added some real depth to our side, it is no doubt an exciting time for our fans.”
