JUST 8 sleeps out from the Lions’ round one clash with Collingwood, supporters are being encouraged to ‘gear up’ and outnumber the Magpie Army.

A crowd of more than 30,000 is expected for the Easter Saturday match and Consumer Products and Licensing Manager Joel McDonald says he expects the new look replica player Guernsey (with a return to the Fitzroy Lion) to be a hot ticket item.

‘The jumper is back. Everyone will want to wear what they see their heroes in.’

This year’s guernsey is available in three different styles including the home, away and clash jumper. The Lions also launched their 2015 Indigenous Guernsey on Tuesday, available for pre-sale from the Lions Shop. Designed by local Brisbane artist Stephen Hogarth, it depicts Woolloongabba as a major meeting place for the area, and makes reference to the role of the Brisbane River and surrounding waterholes as hunting grounds for local Indigenous people. The guernsey will be worn against St Kilda at The Gabba in Round 9 on Sunday, May 31.

‘We’ve got a wide range from junior apparel through to your collector’s item giftware and memorabilia, it’s a long list’, he said.

‘People will come here and they’ll find what they’re looking for.’
