When we have a big day of training ahead I like to start the day with a nice fresh breakfast. A breakfast myself and a few of the boys love is an Acai Bowl from the local health food café but you don’t want to be buying brekky everyday so I wanted to share this recipe for a Blueberry Bowl that tastes just a good.

 

Ingredients

1 Cup of Frozen Blueberries

1 Frozen Banana

1 Teaspoon of Honey

1 Scoop of any protein or health supplement – I use USN Isolate WPI (Vanilla)

1 Cup of liquid – Water, Apple Juice, Almond Milk – I’m an Almond Milk fan

½ Ripe Banana

½ Apple

3-4 Strawberries

½ Cup of Granola or Muesli

 

Method

In a blender combine frozen blueberries, frozen banana, honey, supplement and liquid you are using.

Blend on high speed for 1 minute or until smooth – you may need to stop and push any lumps down, you can add more liquid if needed but you want a thick consistency so don’t add too much.

Pour the smooth mixture into a serving bowl and top with sliced banana, apple, strawberries and granola/muesli.

Eat straight away but not too fast or you’ll get a brain freeze!
