James Aish

James came back from the seniors and was very good early, his first half was outstanding. Just his competitiveness, his intensity around the ball and his ability to tackle and put pressure on was good. It fell away in the second half though, he got tagged by Rainesy (Andrew Raines). A complement for Aishy that was, something he can work through as a young player. He came back with a great attitude.

Hugh BeasleyStrong as a key back for us, set the tone early with some really good spoils for the day. He’s looking to attack as a key defender as well. He fatigues late in games, probably because he’s working too hard at offence at the moment but it was good to have the big fella back.
Jordon BourkeBourkey was solid as our gate keeper for the day. He has some really strong spoils again, got beaten on a couple of contests but certainly improved on his performance in the previous weeks. It’s about now consistency with Bourkey week to week.
Josh Clayton

Still working on his game – probably wasn’t as dominant as he was the previous week. Missed a couple of shots on goal, a bit of structure stuff he needs to work through now playing on a wing. Needs to work really hard in his contested game.

Liam DawsonBack after a week off the training track and game day. GPS results showed he was working hard, working now with Liam just on his second efforts and his ability to spread from scrimmage and stoppages. Working really hard on his goal kicking, it was good to see him hit the scoreboard again.
Billy EvansHad a new role this week, played him as a forward, just teaching him that role. With Aishy coming back it probably pushed him out of the midfield. But good development for him, playing a different role, working on his intensity with his spread, structured up very well and played his role for the team.
Matt HammelmannCompliancy was really good with his patterns, still is working hard on his contested marks and his second efforts at ground level. Probably missed another key forward to assist him in his role.
Ryan HarwoodHarzy’s second game back, he played more game time and was really good in the contest. Didn’t get beaten in his one on ones, certainly tried to overlap and give us a bit of run off half back, just needs to keep doing the simple things well.
Ryan LesterRyan was very good. Starting now to work in transition at AFL standard, was probably our best midfielder on the day, particularly around stoppage and in his ability to get out and hit the scoreboard with two goals which is really important for him. It particularly makes him more of a dangerous midfielder, just backing up week to week.
Matthew LeuenbergerMatty started well, worked his opponent over pretty much and pushed forward. Had two opportunities to score at goal, but didn’t take care of those opportunities. Fatigued in the second half where Zac Smith probably got the best of him. Still working with his contested marking and ruck work.
Josh McGuinnessA little bit quieter this week. Concentration in defensive 50 and got caught ball watching a little bit, he’s working hard on his contested stuff. His offensive work is going really well, his ability to overlap and run off half back and give us a bit of offensive run – again, keep doing the simple things well.
Zac O’BrienA lot quieter this week, probably tried to do a little too much early in the game and got caught a few times. I’ve just asked him to keep it simple. Had no impact in the second half, we asked him to do a job on Hallahan, he was probably even matched in the second half. Need Zac to bounce back after the bye.
Josh WattsJoshy came back from a hamstring (injury) and probably showed that he had missed a week of footy. Lost concentration a fair few times in defensive 50 around stoppage and scrimmage. He needs to focus on that. It was a great effort to get back after a 7-day hamstring we are hoping now another good week on the training track will see him come back in better form next week.
