LIONS Rucks and Forwards Coach Ben Hudson says the future is bright for Harris Andrews.

Andrews in just his third senior game was impressive when switched down back, providing reliable hands in marking contests.

“He’s done really well. I tried to hide him and keep him as a ruck/forward but the defenders eventually got their way and he went back”, Hudson said.

“He certainly looks like a polished player in just his third game. It was his first game in defence and he was able to take some crucial intercept marks late.

“He’s obviously going to be a player of the future and has done well at such a young age to play his role for the team.”

Hudson told the Vero Coaches Wrap the return of Matthew Leuenberger was positive for the Lions.

“Stef’s been our number one ruckman and Leuey’s been in good form back in the NEAFL – just his ability to come in and predominately play as a key forward and play his role.

“He was really good in aerial contests, took a couple of marks and at worst brought it down to the ground and allowed our smalls in Greeny and Bundy to benefit and kick some goals from that.”
