SKILLS COACH Ben Hudson says the Lions must focus on contested football as the Club prepares to take on Adelaide at the Gabba on Saturday.

“I think the focus is on us, we need to win contested ball, it’s really simple”, Hudson said.

TEAM: Lions make three changes

“If we can win that we’ll go a long way to not only winning the game but staying in the game longer.”

Crows captain Tex Walker was named to take on Brisbane despite being subbed out of last week’s match with a corked left thigh and Hudson says the Lions will be wary.

“There are a few (we’ll need to watch) – Tex, if he plays, maybe he’ll miss with a corky.

“Sam Jacobs their ruckman as well as their midfielders in Scotty Thompson – old but still got it and Patrick Dangerfield,” Hudson said.

“Certainly there are focuses for the backs, mids and forwards based around the contested footy, but also getting numbers to the contest. If we can get more numbers to the contest we’ll ultimately win more than our fair share.”
