The Brisbane Lions have agreed to accept a first-round pick in the 2015 NAB National Draft from West Coast in return for midfielder Jack Redden.

The Brisbane Lions will receive Pick No.17 from the Eagles for midfielder Redden, who was due to become a free agent at the end of next season.

Redden played 129 games in seven years for the Club.

The Brisbane Lions now have Picks 2, 17 and 21 inside the first two rounds of the National Draft.

Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann said the deal would help the Club in its drive to pick up more of the nation’s best young talent.

“This puts us in a much stronger position heading into the Draft, especially with so much good Queensland talent on offer” said Swann.

“Jack has played a big role in the Club over recent years but circumstances saw him want a fresh start.

“We think a first round pick is a really good result for us, and we wish Jack all the best in the future.”
