The Lions have allocated 2016 guernsey numbers to those players who joined the Club via the National Draft and Rookie Draft.
Josh Schache will carry on the No. 23 after his late father Laurence who played for the Brisbane Bears between 1991-92.
Josh was only five when his father collapsed and died in 2002 of a rare heart condition, aged just 34.
“It’s very special. I’m very humbled to get the number,” he said.
Schache received his jumper from Senior Coach Justin Leppitsch alongside fellow draftees this morning.
Eric Hipwood will wear the No. 30 for the Lions, Ben Keays will pull on the No. 1, Rhys Mathieson will wear the No. 36, Sam Skinner will don the No. 41 and Reuben William will take on No. 47.
