Mitch Robinson said it was an easy decision to 'repay the faith' shown to him by the Brisbane Lions.

The Club announced on Monday that Robinson, who has been a revelation since joining the Lions from Carlton last season, had signed a two-year deal keeping him at the Lions until the end of 2018.

"My management team and I jumped at it," Robinson told LionsTV.

"It was an easy decision, they showed a lot of faith in me a couple of years ago when I was delisted by Carlton."

It's been a whirlwind past 12 months for Robinson. The 26-year-old capped off a memorable 2015 with his first Merrett-Murray Medal in September and has provided a home and guidance to some of the Club's younger players Josh McGuinness and Jaden McGrath.

"It's something I can reflect on now and be happy with myself. My partner Emma and my son Chance they're loving it up here in Brisbane.

"The Club was very welcoming the first day I got in the door, especially with the Lambert's up here now it's even better."

The midfielder said he was looking forward to continuing his journey in Brisbane with his young family and they couldn't be happier with a little one on the way, due early next year.

"We're just focussing on the next three years of our lives up here in Brisbane and hopefully I can sign a few more one year deals after that. We'll see how we go.

"Emma's due in March. It's just between NAB Cup games. We found out it's a little girl during the off-season.
