Vice-Captain Dayne Zorko was joined by Club Ambassador 'Buffering', the ‘six-million dollar’ horse and multiple group 1 winner, to launch the Lions' ticket sales for 2016 at Eagle Farm on Tuesday.

‘Buffering’ and owner Robbie Heathcote will begin their third season as Lions ambassadors.

“I haven’t ever ridden the ‘Buff’ but I’ve been on him a few times,” Zorko laughed.

“I’ve definitely tried to get him home a few times over in Perth and down in Melbourne.

“It’s fantastic to have Buff and Robbie back on board.”

Tickets to all Lions home games will go on sale to the general public at 9:00am on Friday.

Hawthorn, Collingwood and North Melbourne will all play at the Gabba in 2016 and Zorko said there is nothing better than the Lions playing their best football in front of a big home crowd.

“We’ve got a great bunch of kids coming through, a lot of fantastic new recruits. I think it’s a really exciting time for the group going forward.

“Hopefully everyone can get to the Gabba for all our home games. Really fill it up and give the boys a lot of excitement and a big rush when they play out on the ground.”

Zorko celebrated his 27th Birthday today and with his contract up at season’s end, said he was keen to lock away a new deal with the Club.

“I’m really happy in Brisbane. We’ve got a young group coming through and I’d love to be a part of that.

“Being one of the older players now I feel that it’s important that I stay around and really help take this group forward with Tom (Rockliff), Dayne (Beams), Rog (Dan Merrett) and the rest of the leadership group.”

Owner Robbie Heathcote said Buffering’s story was one of hard work and said he believes success is ahead for the Lions.

“It’s an exciting time not just for the Lions but it is for us as well with Buffering.

“It’s always great to be associated with my favourite footy team,” Heathcote said.

“It’s not how you get knocked down, it’s how you get back up. It took him (‘Buffering’) a long time to win a big one but he’s endeared himself to the public because of that never say die attitude.”

‘Buff’ will look to continue his stellar career overseas in Dubai in the coming months.
