PEARCE Hanley has not told the Brisbane Lions he wants to leave, CEO Greg Swann says.
Following reports this week the Irishman was disgruntled and keen to move, Swann said Hanley had given the club no indication he was looking for a change.
Speaking on Melbourne radio station SEN on Friday morning, Swann said the Lions "haven't put any players up for trade".
"He (Hanley) certainly hasn't said to us that he wants out," Swann said
"He had his exit interview and is on holiday at the moment, but we haven't had any of those conversations.
"As far as we're concerned, he has another three years contract-wise, so we just march on and see what happens from there."
Hanley's manager Paul Connors said earlier in the week the 27-year-old was a "long way" from leaving the Lions, but conceded the NAB AFL Trade Period was a "funny" time.
Hanley had a disappointing season by his standards, but finished fourth in the Lions' best and fairest count behind Dayne Zorko, Mitch Robinson and Stefan Martin.
On trade rumours Swann said: "It’s madness the trade period, it seems to go longer and longer and longer now.”
"We’re not even close to starting it and there’s all of this speculation.
"We certainly haven’t put any players up for trade.
"We’re not in a position to do it until we have our Footy Manager and Coach appointed, so that will obviously happen as we know.
"There’s plenty of speculation but I think there will be plenty more speculation about all sorts of players as we get closer."
Swann said with David Noble appointed as the club's new football manager, the Lions' search for a new coach would intensify with interviews beginning next week.
