Throwback Thursday: 2016 National Draft

April 13, 2017 5:43 PM

TBT: Draft 2016 This week we're throwing back to the 2016 Draft when Hugh McCluggage and Jarrod Berry found out they were becoming Brisbane Lions. Good Luck in your first home game this weekend boys.

In this week’s ‘Throwback Thursday’ we throwback to the 2016 National Draft in Sydney.

That night, the Lions recruited North Ballarat Rebels duo Hugh McCluggage (#3) and Jarrod Berry (#17) with their first two picks.

McCluggage and Berry made their senior debut for the Club last weekend against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium and on Sunday will run out for their first home game with the Lions.

The Lions’ last win against Richmond was Round 7, 2009.

Berry was in primary school at that time, but said the nine-match losing streak was not a consideration at the Gabba this week.

“Hopefully we can build on what we’ve done the past few weeks and really get after them on Sunday,” Berry told The Courier Mail.
