Assistant Coach Ben Hudson has lamented the Lions’ wasted first-half opportunities in front of goal following Saturday night's 80-point loss to the Crows.

Brisbane led by three points at the first break, but faded thereafter, conceding 18 goals to Adelaide for just four of their own.

Hudson said as his side wasted a number of gettable shots at goal, particularly in the first half.

“We didn’t take our opportunities. I think we kicked at 29%. Prior to this we’ve been really good and probably have improved from previous years’ in our accuracy,” said Hudson.

“We were able to generate 25 shots on goal which is the second most Adelaide has had against them this year apart from North Melbourne.

“But when you can’t kick between the big sticks, you’re going to struggle.”

The Lions will meet Collingwood on Sunday at the MCG, the first time the Lions have played at the venue this season.

“We’ve got the secret weapon in Dale Tapping (former Collingwood VFL Coach) who knows the ins and outs of Collingwood.

“No doubt the boys will pick his brain during the week, but we’ve got to be able to bring that effort and intensity like we did in the first quarter and a half against Adelaide.

“If we take our opportunities we’ll be a good chance to win.”
