From North Melbourne to the Brisbane Lions, midfielder Ryan Bastinac this weekend racks up game 150.

Drafted to North at pick #21 in the 2009 National Draft, Bastinac made his senior debut in Round 1, 2010.

Bastinac went on to play 121 games for the club before joining the Lions at the end of the 2015 season.

“It was pretty exciting playing with some of the greats of the competition with Boomer (Brent) Harvey and Drew Petrie,” said Bastinac, reflecting on his time at North Melbourne.“

“I spent six years there and then made my way up to Brisbane.

“I’m loving my life up here, it’s awesome.”

Speaking of his time so far at the Lions, Bastinac said it was the 2017 season opening win against the SUNS that was his most memorable match at the Club:

“We had a really good pre-season, came out against the Gold Coast and had the best start ever,” said Bastinac.“

“But, then they came back and we were lucky to be able to hold on and fight out the four quarters and get the victory.”

Bastinac said he was buoyed by the Club’s emerging cubs, who will only continue to grow.

“You see some of the kids we’ve got playing with us now and who have played last year as well – Josh Schache, Hugh McCluggage, Jarrod Berry, big Archie Smith.“

“It’s awesome for the future and really exciting for the fans.”
