The Brisbane Lions secured their second QClash victory of the year on Saturday night against the Gold Coast SUNS at the Gabba, winning by 58 points. 

Captain Dayne Beams almost single-handedly turned the tide for the Lions after a lacklustre first quarter, and he would go on to collect the Marcus Ashcroft Medal for best on ground for the second time this year. Beams join Gary Ablett and Pearce Hanley as the only players to have won the medal twice. 

The Lions inspiring midfielder finished with 32 disposals, four goals and a huge 13 score involvements. 

Tom Rockliff was also incredible in the midfield and tallied 24 disposals and three vital goals. 

The SUNS struggled to contain the pace of Lewy Taylor who zipped around the field on his way to two goals and 25 disposals. 

In his 100th match, Ryan Lester was strong and chipped in with two goals and 18 touches. 

Stefan Martin dominated in the ruck and amassed 34 hit outs and 23 disposals. 

Jake Barrett kicked a career-high three goals. 

Harris Andrews registered 11 one percenters, while Sam Mayes and Daniel Rich also had strong matches in defence.
