Lions' Kate Lutkins has been named AFLW MVP of the Week after claiming 44 per cent of the votes from fans.

Lutkins came up against some stiff competition including the Round 5 opposing Captain, Melbourne's Daisy Pearce, and Adelaide Co-Captian Chelsea Randall.

Despite Brisbane falling narrowly to Melbourne on Friday at Casey Fields, Lutkins collected 26 disposals to lead all players on the ground. The dynamic defender is averaging just over 20 disposals per game over the past three encounters.

Lutkins just held off Daisy Pearce, after the Demon kicked two classy goals and gathered 24 disposals in her side’s victory over the Lions.

Adelaide’s Chelsea Randall, who has been one of the most consistent AFLW performers in 2018, finished in third place following her 15 disposals and seven tackles in their blowout win over Carlton.

Congratulations, Kate!
