The nominees for the 2018 AFL Players’ Association’s Most Valuable Player Awards have been revealed and there are some notable additions.

Brisbane Lions' Alexandra Anderson, Kate Lutkins and Jamie Stanton have been nominated for the AFLW MVP Award following their stellar 2018 seasons.

Defender Nicole Hildebrand is up for Most Couragous Award, while Sophie Conway has finished what has been a great first year at the Lions with a nomination for Best First-Year Award.

Emma Zielke will also have the opportunity to be named Best Captain after leading the side for her second season this year.

On top of her nomination for AFLW MVP Award, Lutkins continued her long streak of Coaches' Votes in Round 7, polling four votes.

Lutkins was a strong contender for the AFLW Coaches' Vote all year and finished fourth on the leaderboard behind Chelsea Randall, Emma Kearney and Ellie Blackburn.

With the AFLW Grand Final only three days away, the Women's team have their sights set on the prestigious title. For all the match information ahead of Saturday's Grand Final - Click here.

Voting for the AFLW MVP, Most Courageous, Best First-Year Player and Best Captain awards is a two-stage process, with players nominating their teammates in stage one before selecting from a competition-wide field in stage two.

Players cannot vote for a player from their own club during stage two of the voting process.

Players will be recognised at a bespoke event on the first Monday the 26th of March and then again alongside their male colleagues at the AFL Players’ Association’s MVP Awards in September.
