Brisbane Lions Captain Dayne Beams reaches his 150th AFL game milestone this Saturday against Port Adelaide.

‘Beamsy’ made his way to the Lions from Collingwood in a blockbuster trade at the end of the 2014 season.

With 110 games and a premiership under his belt, Beams was a valuable addition to the Lions’ midfield.

Injuries hampered Beams in the first two years of his time at the Lions, but he showed last year that he is still one of the game's elite midfielders, finishing 9th in the 2017 Brownlow Medal voting.

Ahead of his milestone this weekend, lions.com.au take a look at our Captain’s best five games to date in the maroon, blue and gold.

Round 21, 2017, v Gold Coast Suns

Beams was a colossus in the Lions’ second QClash victory of 2017, gathering 32 disposals, kicking four goals, assisting another four and being involved in 13 score involvements.

Down by a few goals early, Beams almost single-handedly brought the Lions back into the contest before they stormed ahead of the Suns to record a 22.10 (142) to 12.12 (84) victory.

The performance saw Beams claim the Marcus Ashcroft Medal as best on ground for the second time in 2017.

Round 19, 2017, v West Coast Eagles

The final score wasn't pretty, but Beams' performance against the Eagles late last season ranks as one of his best-ever.

Beams grabbed a career-high 41 disposals at an efficiency of 81% and had nine clearances.

The performance was made even better by the fact Beams had a battle a dodgy shoulder for the latter stages of the season.

Round 1, 2017 v Gold Coast Suns

After missing almost all of the 2016 season with a knee injury, there was a lot of expectation surrounding Beams’ return match in 2017.

Critics questioned his passion and whether he still had it.

To add to the pressure was the fact that Chris Fagan had installed him as Captain prior to the season.

Beams pushed all the doubters aside by collecting 21 disposals in the first half as the Lions put the Suns to the sword.

The Lions ended up winning 15.8 (98) to 14.12 (96) and Beams was judged as best on ground.

Round 6, 2015 v Carlton

Under immense pressure following five straight losses, Beams led the Lions to a stunning second-half comeback that saw them top the Blues 12.12 (84) to 11.9 (75).

With Carlton guns Chris Judd and Bryce Gibbs in impressive form, Beams took them on and won on his way to 29 touches and seven clearances.

Round 1, 2015 v Collingwood

In his first match for his new team, and against his former side, Beams was superb as the Lions fought hard but eventually narrowly lost to Collingwood in the opening game of the 2015 season.

Slotting straight into the Lions' midfield, Beams collected 32 disposals and fought off a hard tag from his former teammate Taylor Adams.
