Matt Eagles has been ruled out of the Brisbane Lions' clash against North Melbourne this weekend due to injury.

The defender was not named in Senior Coach Chris Fagan's 26-man squad after he suffered an abdominal injury in the Lions' Round 10 loss to Sydney.

Ben Keays, Tom Bell, Josh Walker, Sam Mayes and Ryan Lester have all been included in the extended squad.

Keays has yet to make a Senior appearance this year, while Bell, Walker, Mayes and Lester all started the season in the Senior side.

All five have been in impressive form in the NEAFL of late, with Bell best on ground last weekend against the Swans with 42 touches.

Walker has been strong up forward for the NEAFL side and appears the most similar replacement for Eagles, if Fagan opts for that.

If selected, Sunday will be Mayes' 100th game for the Club.

For Sunday's match at Etihad Stadium, the Lions will proudly wear the Club's 2018 Sir Doug Nicholls Round guernsey, designed by Brisbane artist Elaine Chambers.

The Lions' final 22-man team will be named at 5pm on Friday.

Bounce is at 1.10pm at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
