Other Incidents Assessed:

Contact between Luke Hodge and Essendon's Dyson Heppell from the second quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. The ball was loose in front of Hodge, who was seeking to take possession.

As Hodge prepares to take the ball, Heppell props in front of the Brisbane player, allowing him to contest the ball or prepare for a tackle. Hodge makes contact with the Essendon player as he runs in the line of the ball.

It was the view of the Match Review Officer that Hodge was contesting the ball and had no realistic alternative way to contest the ball.
