Second victory in AFLW Winter Series

The Lions AFLW brought home their second-straight victory for Winter Series.

The Brisbane Lions’ AFLW side made it two from two in the Winter Series with a strong victory over GWS North on Saturday at Graham Road.

A three-goal opening quarter, while holding the Giants goalless, propelled the Lions to a handy lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Sophie Conway kicked two goals in a great performance up forward, with Ally Anderson, Sabrina Frederick-Traub and Emma Zielke also chipping in with goals.

Emily Bates was terrific in the midfield, along with ruck Jessy Keeffe.

The Lions’ next Winter Series match is against the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday, July 14, at 4.40pm at Metricon Stadium.
