Bailey extends to 2021 The domino effect continues with another re-signing, Zac Bailey extends his contract to 2021.

Northern Territory speedster Zac Bailey has recommitted to the Brisbane Lions for a further two years, extending his stay in the Den until at least the end of 2021.

Bailey, taken with the Lions’ 15th pick at the 2017 NAB AFL Draft has played 10 senior matches in his inaugural season

The 18-year-old made his debut at the AFL’s holy grail, the MCG, in Round 4 against the defending premiers, Richmond.

In his ten games, Bailey has played in the midfield and kicked four goals, while averaging 17 disposals.

Bailey said his first season of AFL has been an incredible experience and is excited by what the future holds at the Lions.

“It’s been unreal,” he told lions.com.au.

“It’s really exciting. All the boys have been really good to me and all the coaching staff and I’ve really enjoyed my time here.”

Bailey’s name joins a long list of re-signings at the Den in the past twelve months. Cameron Rayner, Hugh McCluggage, Alex Witherden, Toby Wooller and Allen Christensen have all extended their contracts.

“It’s a pretty bright future for the Club so that’s something I want to be a part of,” Bailey said.

General Manager of Football David Noble said Bailey has demonstrated great potential to coaching staff.

“We are extremely excited to add Zac to the list of players that have resigned with us," Noble said

"He has shown great signs in both the forward line and in the midfield."

"Zac is a young man with lots of character that continues to look at improving all the time."
