As Brisbane makes the trip down to the Cattery, the players will be asking, 'Why not?'

Knocking off Hawthorn in Launceston a fortnight ago and almost doing the same last week to Adelaide, the Lions will be out to cause more chaos to a Club's top-eight hopes.

Geelong needs to bank the four points if it is to play in September and then worry about building percentage.

Last week's two-point win over Melbourne cost the Cats 1.3 per cent, and saw them falling out of the eight after Hawthorn belted Carlton and gained 5 per cent.

For the Lions, Round 18 was almost their fourth win on the trot. The Lions fought hard against Adelaide Crows and were devastated by the five-point loss, having been in the game and a chance to win all night.

The Lions will be relying on their younger talent to upset the Cats for the first time at home in 15 years.

AFL Rising Star candidate Alex Witherden, former first-round pick Hugh McCluggage and young stopper Nick Robertson have all impressed in recent weeks.

The Six Points:
1. Chris Scott was playing game 174 when Brisbane last won in Geelong in Round 6, 2003. This weekend he notches 400 games as a player and coach combined, his 185th game as coach after playing 215 for the Brisbane Bears/Lions.

2. Brisbane could field as many as seven players from the Geelong region when it attempts to take another finals-bound scalp at the weekend. Allen Christensen and Josh Walker both played for the Cats, while Luke Hodge, Darcy Gardiner, Lewis Taylor, Rhys Mathieson and Alex Witherden all played for the Geelong Falcons as juniors.

3. Brisbane has lost its past six matches at GMHBA Stadium by an average of 57.3 points. The closest the Lions got was back in Round 23, 2013.

4. Harris Andrews will be eligible to play after missing the last four rounds following a severe concussion sustained in the Round 14 clash with GWS Giants.

5. The Cats and Lions possess two of the best first-year players in the AFL Player Ratings. Cat Tim Kelly is ranked No.1 in the competition, while Lion Cameron Rayner sits third.

6. If last Saturday was anything to go by, the Lions losing history against Geelong shouldn't be judged too quickly. Against Adelaide, in 2016 the Lions lost by 138 points, in 2017 by 80 points and last Saturday by only five points. The evident growth in recent years will be threatening against Geelong at the Cattery this weekend.

It's a big week for… Josh Walker
Former Cat Josh Walker, traded out at the end of 2015, comes up against his former side after an impressive fortnight in defence.

With Andrews eligible for selection and the Lions backline only holding space for a select number of talls, Walker has a big few days of training ahead. But if his form in recent weeks is anything to go by; Walker should hold his spot in the Lions' defence.

Contending with Tom Hawkins in career-best form will prove where he's at.
