The Brisbane Lions players have selected Dayne Beams as their Players' Player of the Year for 2018.

After each match this season the players voted for their best performing teammate.

Through a year fronted with a number of personal struggles and challenges, teammates witnessed Beams rise above to produce one of his best seasons since joining the Club four years ago.

He polled the highest possible number of Coaches Votes in three games, was awarded the Marcus Ashcroft Medal for his best on ground performance against Gold Coast in Round 22 and was named in the All Australian squad for 2018.

Dayne Beams topped the team's possession count to become just the sixth player in Club history to top 600 possessions in a season. On a possessions per game basis, Beams’ 29.1 possessions per game average is third-best in Club history.

The Players' Player Award recipient also produced the most clearances this season with 118, to pip Stefan Martin’s 110 and win his second clearance title.

Above all, Beams' honesty and mateship towards his teammates earnt him the respect of the entire playing group.
