The Brisbane Lions' General Manager of Football David Noble spoke to the media following the first meetings on day one of the AFL Trade Period.

Here's what he had to say on the Lions' potential trade targets:

On Bulldogs defender Marcus Adams:

"We started some preliminary discussion with them [the Bulldogs] yesterday but we didn't talk today."

"We've got 10 days to work our way through that.

"I'm not sure they're playing hardball but we'd like to have a discussion to see where that will land."

On Fremantle midfielder Lachie Neale:

"We've started discussions but there's a lot of water to go under the bridge."

"It's great that someone of his calibre wants to come, we'll do everything we can to get him here.
"We won't go into the strategy and the picks, he's a contracted player with Freo and we've got to do what we can.

"The discussions were pretty amicable. It was just an open discussion this morning. We will take it from there this week."

On new recruit Lincoln McCarthy:

"We left it all until the last 30 seconds last year..so to get one out of the blocks is really good."

"We are really targeting that 23 to 26-year-old age bracket. Credit goes to Geelong - they are always great to deal with.

"He is a small forward that can come in and add pressure. He can roll through the midfield. We are really excited he has decided to join."
