Connor McFadyen: 190cm, 81kg, 04/12/2000

  • Lions Academy/Wilston Grange junior
  • Midfielder/forward
  • Represented Lions NEAFL in five games this season
  • Been part of the Club's Academy program since age 11

Steve Conole, Recruiting Manager, says:

Connor is a Lions Academy product who has had a fantastic season, coming off a limited pre-season. He was All Australian for the Allies."

“Big, strong-bodied midfielder who can play forward. Really strong and clean. His season finished early with a foot injury so he will have a delayed start to the pre-season.”

With Pick No. 42 the Brisbane Lions have selected Lions Academy graduate Connor McFadyen at the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.

McFayden is no stranger to the Club, having joined the Academy program at the young age of 11 and having donned numerous maroon, blue and gold guernseys over recent years.

In 2018, McFayden played five games for the Lions NEAFL side, kicking six goals and averaged 9.4 disposals. He often played as a third tall forward while floating through the midfield.

At 190cm, McFadyen is a big and strong ball-winner with an athletic ability to play through the midfield or as a marking option inside 50.

McFadyen was outstanding for the Allies in the U18 Championships this season and his form was rewarded with selection in the U18 All Australian team.

The Academy product was one of a select few Queenslanders invited to the AFL Draft Combine, but couldn’t complete the testing due to a foot injury sustained late in the 2018 season.

Welcome, Connor!
