Brisbane Lions legend Jonathan Brown stands alongside some of the Lions and AFL's greatest player of all time.

On Wednesday evening Browny added another honour to his abundance of accolades at the 24th annual Queensland Sports Awards.

Browny was inducted into the state's Hall of Fame, as recognition for his spectacular 256-game career at the Club.

This morning on Nova106.9, the three-time premiership player spoke of his pride in receiving his Hall of Fame induction.

"I was rapt when I got the call a few weeks ago... it's a big honour," Browny said.

"Queensland is held very close to my heart after 15 years at the Lions."

Browny paid tribute to former Coach Leigh Matthews who played an influential role in his unforgettable career.

"Leigh's influence on my life was profound, he was magnificent."

Browny was inducted alongside dual gold medal-winning cyclist, Anna Meares.

Congratulations, Browny!
