Introduction

Nick Robertson is a medium-sized midfielder who is known for his aggression at the contest. He is a strongly built player who attacks the footy at every opportunity and is rarely beaten one-on-one. He was drafted to the Lions from Western Australia at the end of 2013 and looks set for a big AFL future in Brisbane.

Background

• Robertson size, strength and elite endurance caught the attention of AFL recruiters in the U16s and he was being touted as a potential high selection once he became eligible for the Draft.

• He was selected in the exclusive AIS-AFL Academy and toured Europe with the other top prospects, but was forced to miss the NAB AFL U18 Championships because of a shoulder injury.

• His absence at the Championships resulted in him slipping through the Draft, until the Lions read his name out with their final selection - Pick No.34 overall.
