Journeyman Ben Hudson played 168 senior AFL games with four clubs – Adelaide, the Western Bulldogs, Brisbane Lions, and Collingwood – before returning to Queensland at the end of 2014 to commence a coaching career.

Hudson, who spent a season on the Lions’ playing list in 2012, re-joined the Club as its Defensive Skills & Ruck / Forwards Coach.

A hugely competitive ruckman originally recruited from local club Mt Gravatt, Hudson proved a popular figure throughout his playing days, and in his final years had already begun planning his transition to the coaching ranks.

During his time as a rookie with the Magpies, he was also tasked with the responsibility of fast-tracking the development of Collingwood’s young ruck stocks.

Hudson is now an important part of the Lions’ Coaching Team – a role that sees him work closely with former Bulldogs teammate Mitch Hahn.

Hudson is the Club’s Rucks and Midfield Assistant Coach.
