Triple M is partnering with the Vodafone Brisbane Lions for an Outside Broadcast 'Drive Time' radio event at the Gabba Gate 2 parklands on the corner of Stanley & Main Streets THIS Thursday afternoon from 4pm - 7pm.

The 'OB' is being held to preview the looming Round 6: Brisbane Lions v Essendon clash which bounces down at 7:10pm THIS Saturday night 2 May at the Gabba.

Match tickets are now available through Ticketek - Tel: 132 849 or Web: ticketek.com.au - or fans can come to this Gabba event on Thursday and purchase them on-site or as part of a Lions 3-Game Membership package.

BRISBANE LIONS v ESSENDON
- The Bombers are back in Brisbane for the first time in 3 years having not played at the Gabba since Round 2 of 2006.
- Honours are even with 9 wins each from 18 games between the Lions and Essendon.
- The Lions are desperate to go ahead against the 'Dons on home turf and get their season back on track.
- It's the Lions' Brown and Bradshaw v Essendon's Lloyd and Lucas in a full-on forward line duo shoot-out.
- The Bombers haven't defeated the Lions at the Gabba since Round 8 of 2000.
- The Lions have won the past five meetings with Essendon at the Gabba since the famous Leigh Matthews inspired "If it bleeds, we can kill it" match back in 2001 when the Bombers were almost invincible.

GATE 2 ACTIVITIES
- Triple M Outside Broadcast with live and pre-recorded player and club staff interviews.
- Players available to meet & greet fans for autographs and photos from 3pm - 6pm on departure from their afternoon training.
- Triple M interactive street van.
- Opportunity to purchase Lions v Essendon match tickets from the Lions' in-store Ticketek counter.
- 3-Game Lions Memberships on sale from the Gate 2 Match Office.
- Gate 2 Lions Shop open till 7pm with merchandise sales.
- Lions BBQ hotdogs and drinks available.
- Lions mascot Bernie 'Gabba' Vegas is attending with Lions giveaways.
- Handball target competitions plus other junior Auskick activities in the park - marking & kicking drills etc.
- Free Lions showbags with stickers, temporary tattoos, team poster etc for the kids.
- Triple M giveaways.
- 2009 AFL Grand Final Ticket competition postcards.
- Triple M will also be giving away a signed Lions guernsey and signed footy during the broadcast.

The Lions' open-air carpark off Stanley Street opposite Gate 10 will be open for members, supporters and Triple M listeners on the Thursday.

Triple M is also supporting the big game itself as the Official Match-Day Partner with a Lions Bingo competition at half-time on the scoreboard plus their interactive street van will be located at Gate 2.

The Sunday Mail will be providing free newspapers from Gates 2 and 7 after the match while MBF will again be hosting their SMS crowd competition to win a signed match ball after the game.

The Vodafone Entertainment Quarter complete with live band and junior footy clinics will follow shortly after the final siren to allow fans to enjoy their traditional kick-to-kick on the field weather permitting.
