Hugh McCluggage has yet again taken the title of Lions distance king.

The classy midfielder was in All-Australian form through 2021, earning himself a third straight nomination in the extended squad of 40.

With injuries often throwing the whiteboard into disarray, McCluggage was played both in the centre and on the wing.

Astonishingly, the 23-year-old covered 16km on two occasions and added another 15km performance in Round 16.

On average, McCluggage covered 14.57km a game, while Harris Andrews and Brandon Starcevich rounded out the top three.

In a surprise twist for Lions fans, the latest Telstra Tracker findings saw Starcevich take out top honours as Brisbane's fastest player in 2021.

Narrowly beating expected speed king, Charlie Cameron, the 22-year-old hit a top speed of 34.31km/h.

Cameron came a close second with a top speed of 33.98km/h, while second year midfielder Deven Robertson finished third with 33.84km/h.
