As women’s sport continues to grow in Australia, January 2022 sees Price Attack enter their second season of being a major sponsor of the Brisbane Lions AFLW team. As an underfunded and under patronised sport, their commitment to the sport, the team and the people is a positive foot in the right direction.
Year 1 of our partnership could be considered turbulent, through no fault of either party. Covid-19 impacted the AFLW as it did with so many cultural events across the country. Many of the games played throughout the season were postponed, played without a crowd or moved to various stadiums around the country to allow the season to progress. However, their support for the team did not waiver and saw them take out the coveted premiership for 2021. The stuff dreams are made of!
The 2022 season, whilst still with its challenges, provides a new platform to cement our partnership and show further commitment to championing women. We want to support women to feel confident no matter what they’re doing. We see the challenges female athletes have in their industry and know that those stories resonate with women everywhere. So we’re going to share them with the hope of inspiring those, young and old.
As a major sponsor of the team, Price Attack will spearhead our 2022 partnership with our ‘Official Supplier of Fierce’ campaign – a celebration of all women. Our ‘Fierce’ mantra will come to life with a unique content series that will follow the journey of various players, highlighting how these inspirational women have overcome challenges both on and off the field.
