Brisbane Lions Reserves Captain Jackson Paine has been suspended for one week, charged with striking against Southport in the NEAFL on the weekend.

It was an uncharacteristic performance from Paine, who has been one of the Reserves' best players in recent weeks.

He was reported for two separate incidents - given a reprimand for one report, but offered a two week suspension for the other.

Paine was able to bring his suspension down to one week with an early guilty plea.

Jackson Paine will be available to play again when the Reserves meet the Sydney Swans at the SCG in Round 19 of the NEAFL.
