The Lions’ own Xena: Warrior Princess Leah Kaslar has been awarded the Brisbane Lions Women’s Most Competitive player at the Best and Fairest awards on Friday evening.

Kaslar, was recruited from the Coolangatta Bluebirds in the QWAFL. The 31-year-old became a mainstay in the Lions’ defence, and at 31 is one of Brisbane’s most experienced players.

“Leah’s been phenomenal all year and her ability to shut down the oppositions key player in the forward line every week is a credit to her,” said Starcevich.

“She is an amazing competitor, and inspires the group around her.”
