The Brisbane Lions had contributors all across the park in yesterday's incredible victory over Essendon at Etihad Stadium.

In just his second AFL match, defender Alex Witherden was superb in tallying 29 disposals and six rebound 50s.

After a quite game against the GIANTS the week prior, Dayne Zorko was back at his best with 30 disposals, two goals, seven clearances and eight tackles.

Eric Hipwood slotted four vital goals up front, while Rohan Bewick chipped in with an equal career-high three majors.

Harris Andrews, celebrating his 50th AFL match, was massive down back for the Lions, as were Sam Mayes, Dan McStay and Nick Robertson.

Ryan Lester secured the victory with a brilliant mark and goal in the final stages of the match.
