After missing the second half of 2017 through injury, Tom Bell had been looking forward to last Friday night's intra-club for a long time.

Showing no signs of rust, Bell kicked two goals and was impressive in the midfield especially around stoppages.

"Personally, I think I did alright. It's always nice to kick a couple of goals and get a few clearances. Things I've been working on fell in place," Bell told lions.com.au.

"I've been working on being a bit more clean [with my ball use].

"A bit more confidence in myself and knowing I can attack contests without any issues from my leg. I found the hitout great."

Bell echoed the comments of many experts and fans on the standard of the intra-club being much higher than in previous years.

"The team went great. It was a pretty even battle across the field," Bell said.

"It's good to see the team start to play some really good and exciting footy.

"I think all the boys are raring to go for AFLX and the JLT matches which are coming up."

Lions fans will likely not have to wait very long to see Bell in action again, as he hinted he would '100%' like to play AFLX this Saturday in Sydney.
