The Club is mourning the passing of former Fitzroy players Max Cole and Donald Hart.

Recruited from Dandenong, Max played a total of 52 senior games with Fitzroy across five seasons (1965-69) – mostly in the back pocket.

He was the 826th player to appear in a senior VFL/AFL match with the Club, and wore the #12 (39 games), #38 (7 games) and #26 (6 games) guernseys.

Max was also an Honorary Life Member of the Fitzroy-Brisbane Lions Past Players & Officials Association, with whom he served for an extended period as a committee member, right up until his death.

Don played a total of 37 senior games with Fitzroy across three seasons (1950-51, and 1953). He was the 664th player to appear in a senior VFL/AFL match with the Club, and wore the #10 (27 games) and #16 (10 games) guernseys.

The Lions will wear black armbands this weekend in memory of Max and Donald.
