The Brisbane Lions are waiting to hear whether contracted Fremantle star Lachie Neale wants to head north to join the Club.
The 25-year-old is signed up with the Dockers until the end of 2019 but is exploring a trade to the Queensland-based side.
Lions Football Manager David Noble was asked by NAB AFL Trade Radio on Monday whether it was a matter of awaiting Neale's verdict.
"Yeah probably. It's got to be his call, from his side of things. We just have to sit back and wait and see how things unfold," Noble said.
"He's probably not the only target that we have at this time of year."
The Lions are also pursuing Geelong small forward Lincoln McCarthy, who has declared his interest in moving north.
In terms of doing a deal with the Dockers, Noble said it didn't just come down to the No. 4 selection the Lions currently hold in the upcoming NAB AFL Draft, although that pick will probably slip down to No. 5 after Gold Coast receives expected compensation for restricted free agent Tom Lynch.
