The Brisbane Lions' six new draftees have received their guernsey numbers for 2019.

#8 - Ely Smith

The Lions' first pick in the 2018 AFL Draft, Ely Smith (Pick No. 21), will wear the number eight jumper in 2019.

Two-time Lions premiership player Tim Notting (191 games) and legendary Fitzroy Captain and Coach Bill Stephen (162 games) previously wore the jumper. Stephen also coached Yarrawonga, where Smith is from.

Rohan Bewick previously wore the jumper for 75 games.

#13 - Thomas Berry

The number 13 jumper is staying in the Berry family, with Pick No. 36 in the draft, Thomas Berry, taking over the jumper for 2019.

His big brother Jarrod previously wore the jumper for the past two seasons, before moving to the number seven jumper recently.

Fitzroy's Kevin Wright (140 games) and three-time Lions premiership player Martin Pike (106 games) are most famous number 13s in Lions history.

#32 - Tom Joyce

Western Australian Tom Joyce (Pick No. 40) will sport the number 32 on his back in 2019.

Sam Mayes was the previous holder of the 32 jumper before his move to Port Adelaide in the recent trade period.

Lions legend Shaun Hart wore the jumper in his 273 games for the Club.

#43 - Noah Answerth

Oakleigh Chargers junior Noah Answerth (Pick No. 55) will wear the number 43 jumper in 2019.

The guernsey previously belonged to Jake Barrett. Two-time premiership player Beau McDonald played 91 games in the jumper.

#45 - Connor McFadyen

Lastly, Lions Academy graduate Connor McFadyen (Pick No. 42) will wear the number 45 jumper next season.

The recently retired Jack Frost was the previous wearer of the jumper. No Lions player has played over 50 games in the jumper to date, with Fitzroy's Brad Gotch currently the most with 40 games.
