Lions young gun Jarrod Berry told The Roar Deal this week that while the Club may be currently sitting in the top four, not much has changed about the daily habits of the players.

“It’s a different sort of vibe, for me personally it hasn’t changed too much. I’ve come in and played (since I got here) and been really exciting about playing, but now we’re winning, and it feels like that excitement is still there.” Berry said.

Berry, who will play his 50th game this weekend against North Melbourne, says its great for his more experienced teammates to potentially see September action this season.

“I’m loving my footy, love being out there with the boys and the excitement in the group, especially for guys like Richy (Daniel Rich), Zorks (Dayne Zorko) and Stef (Martin) that have been there forever.

“I can just see it in them they’ve lifted and they’re up and about. It’s a pretty cool place to be.”

While an off-season illness which saw him lose five kilos and a mid-season injury could have interrupted his season, Berry believes the stability and support around him has been key to his return to the field.

“I guess those injuries, as much as you can get them, you can focus on other things and make it a positive influence around the place in other ways around how you lead and how you are, or working on your upper body strength.

“There’s so many ways you can improve your game when you’re injured.”
