The Lions NEAFL side are the kings of converting from a stoppage, with a strike rate of 14.5%.

The side remain undefeated after six rounds after recently overpowering Canberra Demons by 89 points in the nation’s capital.

NEAFL development coach Zane Littlejohn said this statistic has greatly helped the side’s success this season.

“Our ability to kick 13 goals from stoppage is pleasing and five goals from forward 50 stoppage is a great outcome,” Littlejohn told lions.com.au.

“It makes the job for the rest of the day quite easy,” he said.

The Lions massive end score of 155 points, continue their six-game streak of scoring more than 100 points.

“We’ve been very good with our scoring,” Littlejohn said.

“They put a lot of numbers around the footy so that was really pleasing for our group to adapt to different ways we needed to play.”

Littlejohn claims that the scoreboard didn’t reflect the intensity of the game.

“It was a really good result to win by that much, but it’s more about the process and how we go,” he said.

“We try and play at an AFL standard every time we go out and for most of the game the boys did that.”

Leading by example were AFL listed players Allen Christensen with 32 disposals and Nick Robertson with 28 disposals, 11 marks.

“We are very healthy at the moment, which makes our job at NEAFL pretty enjoyable,” Littlejohn said.

“Those guys coming back from AFL are having a really good attitude… and then the result can take care of itself,” he said.

The Lions NEAFL side have a bye this week and will take on the GWS Giants at Maroochydore next Saturday.
