Jacob Allison will play his first game for the Brisbane Lions in 2019 after being named in Senior Coach Chris Fagan’s team to talk on the Blues this Saturday.

Allison is the only change this week, coming in for Ben Keays who was omitted.

Allison’s last game in the senior side was Round 7, 2018. The 21-year-old has been dominating in the Club’s undefeated NEAFL side this year after moving from the defensive line to wing. Last week in their 71-point win over the Sydney Swans Allison kicked three goals and had 29 disposals.

Archie Smith, Nick Robertson and Rhys Mathieson have all retained their spot after last round’s win against Hawthorn.

The Lions will be aiming for their eighth win of the season, ahead of the bye round, when they meet Carlton at Marvel.

Fagan warned the Blues will be tough to beat after they had an emotional week saying goodbye to their coach Brendan Bolton.

“You’ve got to be prepared for the unpredictable to some degree,” Fagan said.

“On their day they’re a very, very good side.”

The Lions will wear a commemorative Hall of Fame jumper this weekend, which recognises 50 years since Kevin Murray’s Brownlow win.

Later that night the Club will join together to celebrate the 2019 Brisbane Lions Hall of Fame at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
