The Brisbane Lions Academy teams have confirmed their fixtures for upcoming games, leading into a busy time of year for our Lion cubs.

The Lions Academy is broken down into age groups with two teams playing in both the boys and the girls competitions.

The Under 19 Boys and Girls will both play in the Coates Talent League for season 2023 while also taking on other AFL academies including the Gold Coast Suns, GWS Giants and Sydney Swans.

The Lions boys have already begun their season and will turn their attention to the Gold Coast Suns Academy, taking centre stage on from 1pm at Austworld Centre Oval on May 14.

Through their first four games the Lions are yet to record a win, coming up against some strong Victorian sides and most recently, going down to the Sydney Swans Academy.

The Lions girls are yet to start their season but are set to do battle against the Gold Coast Suns Academy on the 14th of May at Austworld Centre Oval from 11:00am, in a double header with the U19 boys.

The Under 16 Boys and Girls play on a vastly different schedule to that of their older counterparts.

Similarly, to the Under 19 teams, the U16 sides will take part in academy organised matches between other eastern seaboard AFL clubs.

However, the Lions boys will play in the 2023 AFL National Development Championship – Under 16 Boys, the Lions Girls have already played their National Championship, where they recorded two resounding victories to be crowned the inaugural champions – Division 2.

The Lions boys are currently in a pre-season training block before their games kick off on June 18 prior to the National Championship beginning on the 25th of June.

The Lions will take on the Gold Coast Suns Academy with the opening game at the Austworld Centre Oval.
