Brisbane Lions ruckman Oscar McInerney has been named to play against Carlton at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night.

It will be McInerney’s first game at AFL level since the Round 9 draw against North Melbourne back in May, with the Lions big man having been managed due to soreness.

McInerney has played two VFL games in the past month and has showed enough to be confirmed to take his place in Chris Fagan’s side.

The Lions have made just the one change with forward-ruckman Sam Day unavailable due to family reasons.

McInerney is named on the interchange with Kai Lohmann, Callum Ah Chee, Levi Ashcroft and Darcy Wilmot.

With the emergencies listed as Luke Beecken, Ty Gallop and Bruce Reville.

Thursday’s clash with the Blues is scheduled for a 7:30pm start and will be broadcast live on Seven, Fox Footy and Kayo.
