With finals on the horizon, the Lions will be looking to finish their home and away season on a high in this Saturday’s clash against the West Coast Eagles.

Here’s three things you need to know ahead of Saturday’s clash against the West Coast Eagles.

3. Don’t fix what ain’t broke

It’s hard to find weakness in a Lions lineup playing with such confidence.

Although Marcus Adams and Mitch Robinson were available for selection, with a team that has won the last two games by a combined 149 points, Senior Coach Chris Fagan has seen no reason to change the side ahead of Saturday’s clash at the Gabba.

Instead, Adams was named among the emergencies for Saturday, while Robinson is set to spend another week on the sideline’s rehabilitating a calf injury.

2. Eagles on the hunt for Finals

There’ll be some hungry Eagles at the Gabba come Saturday afternoon, with the visitors desperately needing a win to secure a finals berth. They’ll need a stroke of luck though, needing a loss from either GWS or Essendon to edge their way into the eight.

The stakes won’t be quite as high for the already finals-bound Lions.

While the Port Adelaide and Western Bulldogs Friday night clash will ultimately determine the Lions chances of a Top 4 finish and a double chance, an assertive win on Saturday will go a long way in boosting not only their odds, but confidence heading into finals too.

1. Dangerous Daniher

History could well repeat itself on Saturday if Joe Daniher has anything to say about it.

The powerful forward already has 41 goals and 309 disposals under his belt in his first season as a Lion.

But if Daniher kicks just one goal on the Gabba this weekend, the explosive full forward will become the first player since 2017 to kick a goal in every game in the regular home and away season.

The last player to do so...Joe Daniher.
